New Equipment Update

Hi Everyone,

Last night we had a NADA Bord of Directors meeting and we made a decision on the new Flyball equipment.

We will be building another box, and this one is going to have ball thrusters instead of hammers like our current box.

We just need some fund raising ideas to help pay for the box. We need to raise about $300...

But on another positive note:

We have our second set of jumps built. They are getting the final touches tomorrow after class. They will be sanded down and then painted. :)

Hopefully we can get our second box happening sooner rather then later. I am still waiting to hear from the man who makes the boxes and supplies about shipping costs, etc.

Now: In the NADA world, Were having our Annual General Meeting on October 30th from 7-9 at the Sobeys in Mt. Pearl on Old Placentia road, Erin will be sending out a mass email to the club with all the details.

At the meeting last night we counted and we currently have 75 members. :) So thats great.

we've realized that flyball is struggling... This is because its so hard to train and takes longer then to train agility. I hope that this will change in the near future. The dogs that are in class now are doing so great! Im very pleased with all of you!! Im hoping to be able to take a TV and VCR down to the beginners class tonight to get you all a glimps of what fun Flyball is!! :) or maybe a laptop... which ever is easiest.

Well I must get back to work.

See you all tonight!

Results from the first set of classes

Hi Everyone,

Tuesday past was the first set of this months classes.

The Advanced:

This class went GREAT. One of the beginner dogs got the time mixed up and came for 8 instead of 9, but had very good progress. All the dogs are doing just great! nice speed, great turns on the box, and great team energy! I can't wait for this week to get our two lanes of jumps set up! Its going to be great! SOOO excited!

The Beginners:

This class did amazing for their first time. One of our dogs returned to beginners after taking some time off, So it makes me super happy for Huxley and his mom Sandy to be back in the game again.

But the dogs were doing great on their recalls and are grasping the concept of turning pretty good! we let all the dogs off leash at the end of class to let them socialize and get theier team vibe happening.

Well I hope soon to have some pictures I can put here of the new sets of classes.

This is it for today, I should go back and do some work before I get fired!

See you all Tuesday!

Stephanie

First Post

Hi Everyone,

I just decided to set this up for all of us to see. Im going to keep this strictly for Flyball only. Its a way you all can see lession plans, class ideas, NAFA updates, Equipment updates, NADA updates, and all the things to keep you in the loop. And if you notice I called it NADA's Fog Dogs. Brianna came up with the name and I really like it! So I think we'll stick with that and then come up with our sub team names later on.

I will also post pictures of our dogs in action once I actually figure out what the balzes im at.

Well might as well start this off with ideas I have for this new set of calsses.

1 - Beginners:
Im honestly not even sure how many people have signed up for beginners or even if there are any. I emailed erin and Im going to find out. This will be the basic class, info on the sport, introduction to the club, their class mates, finding out what way the dog turns, etc.

2- Advanced;
I have LOTS of fun things planed for this set of classes. By the end of tonight I will have a set of spankin new jumps!! So that means that we will have two lanes set up, Only downfall is we still only have one box. But the club is going to look into getting a new one, and once that is done we will have 2 boxes. which will be FUN TRIAL TIME! =] I am still in need of some helpers though.. so if anyone is willing and able please let me know.

Im going to work a lot on passing, this may not seem like an important part of flyball, people think "ahh its only meeting at the start line" but getting the perfect timing on the pass can save you up to 5 seconds, and it may not seem like much, but in a tournament ... it is!

Well I have to cut this short now.. My lunch break is over.. But I will keep updating this weekly!

See you all Tuesday night!
